The concept for the structure of this piece, was simply a homage to the beautiful ivy covered house next door to the studio. But as the front of the Trika building was flat, we created a concaved structure to clad with our ivy leaves, replicating the natural flow of the ivy down the wall.
Each individual leave was created from strands of oak, cast in epoxy and then carved into shape by hand, making each leaf completely unique. If you looks carefully you will see that a slightly turquoise tint has been added to the leaves, in different gradients, that you may see fade from right to left.
